Head for Moab

Sunday, May 2, 2021 - Moab, UT

Mike and I were up early this morning to head for Phoenix to pick up Patsy at the airport.  She arrived on time around 8am and after getting her things in the car we were off to Moab!

It was a very cloudy day.  A good driving day.  As we were driving we noticed this mound and I just had to take a picture of it!  :)

When we got closer to Moab we saw our first arch!  Wilson Arch.

We arrived at "The Ancient Art Condo" around 5pm.  It is on the second floor.

I guess I only took pictures from our view on the porch.  :)

Tony, Miranda and Vivian arrived about an hour later.  Shortly after they arrived we sat down for some dinner.  Vivian really enjoyed hers.  :)  But she did not like her picture being taken.  :)

It was a wonderful day!

Digging

Friday, April 30, 2021 - Safford, AZ

The conduit for the electric and the pipe for the water were both buried today!  This means we are one step closer to moving out to the property.

The electrical pole will right about where the stake is laying on the ground.  Currently the conduit has gray tape over the hole until the pole and wiring are in place.

The electric meter pedestal for us is over where Mike is standing.  It was approximately a 140' run.
We will have a well sharing agreement with our neighbor Dave.  He had a 1-1/4" water line run to the property line, so we just had to extend it from the property line to where we wanted the water service.

The water spigot is over by the electrical panel.  It was a longer run.
So now we have water and septic and a electrical panel.  No electricity yet.  Now, we have to wait for the electric company to come out, inspect and approve the work, and install the meter.

It was another wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Mike

Wednesday, Arpil 28, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This evening we headed for the Branding Iron Steakhouse for Mike's birthday dinner.  We had heard it was a good place to eat, so we decided to give it a try.  We really did enjoy it and the views were spectacular.

Happy birthday Mike!  I love you very much!

It was another wonderful day!

Marker for Electrical Pole

Wednesday, April 21, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This morning Mike went out to put up a stake where the electrical pole is going to go.  Mike will be setting the meter pedestal and doing the underground work.  I am excited and can't wait!!  We are getting close to having electricity.

It was another wonderful day!

Visit Property

 Monday, April 19, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This evening we went out to our property on High Mesa to see the sunset.  I took this picture looking west.

The next 2 pictures were taken looking east towards BLM land which abuts our east property line.

It is hard to believe these pictures were taken just seconds apart.  It was a beautiful sunset.

It was another wonderful day!

Roper Lake State Park

Saturday, April 17, 2021 - Safford, AZ

Today we took Gracie to Roper Lake State Park just outside Safford.  It is not a very big lake, but Gracie found it to be very enjoyable.  I would have taken her off leash, but there were a lot of people around.

There were also several people out in rafts and kayaks.

After we were done with Gracie swimming, we went for a hike.  This was one of the few shady spots on the trail.  :)

Then it was time for lunch.  They had several covered picnic tables throughout the park so we used one overlooking the lake.

We had a very nice time!

It was another wonderful day!

Suburban Problems

 Monday, April 12, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This afternoon we took the truck to Tucson to the truck repair center.  On the way back the alternator on the Suburban started acting up.  We knew we did not have enough sunlight/battery power left to make it all the way back to Safford, so we looked for a auto parts store in Willcox.  Luckily there was an Auto Zone at the next exit just off I-10.  We pulled off real quick, swung in, and found they had one in stock.  I got it while Mike was pulling the old one out.  Mike changed the alternator right there and I returned the core.  This ease of repair is one of the nice things about having an older vehicle.  Thirty minutes later, Mike had it swapped out and we were back on the road

It was another wonderful day!
