Out on the Lake

Tuesday, August 6, 2019 - Cheboygan, MI

This morning Mike and Tony were up early to drive down to Cadillac to pick up the key for the boat.  Alex, Allyssa, Logan and Macy had to leave this morning, but we sure did have fun together.

Once they finally returned we packed up lunch and headed out.  It was a beautiful day out on the lake.  The north end of Mullet Lake is the shallow end of the lake, so we found a spot among the other boats there and played in the water for a while.  After lunch and a little more swimming we decided it was time to do a little tubing.  :)  Tony, Alex and Avander had a lot of fun out on the tube!

After a few minutes Avander was ready to come in, then Alex wanted Uncle Tony to do tricks on the tube.

Soon even Uncle Tony wanted to come in, but Alex was not ready quite yet.

Soon the tube caught a wave and finally flipped him off.  Then, he was done.  But he did a great job!

Once we got back we ate dinner, then it was time for Tony and Miranda to head home.

It was another wonderful day!

Mackinac Island

Monday, August 5, 2019 - Cheboygan, MI

Alex and Allyssa arrived very late last night, so we let them sleep in a little before heading for the ferry to take us to Mackinac Island.  We made the 10:30 ferry.  It was the last ferry this morning that went under the Mackinac bridge before going to the island.

But I did not get any good pictures of us going under the bridge.  The kids seem to really enjoy it.  :)

Once we got to the island we looked for a place to eat lunch and we decided on Goodfellows, but they did not open until noon, so we went for a short walk.

Lunch was ok, service could have been better.  After lunch we rented bicycles and headed out.

We made a stop at Devil's Kitchen for some climbing and pictures.

Once we made it around the island we returned our bikes, then did some walking.  We walked up to Fort Mackinac.  We did not go in, but I did take a picture of the kids on the cannon.
Then we continued on up the hill to the Governor's Summer Residence.
It is only open on Wednesday's from 11 to 1.  But it is beautiful from the outside.
From there we continued our walk to Skull Cave.  We all agreed it did not look much like a skull.
Our final stop before heading back down was the Fort Mackinac Post Cemetery.

It was another wonderful day!
