Marker for Electrical Pole

Wednesday, April 21, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This morning Mike went out to put up a stake where the electrical pole is going to go.  Mike will be setting the meter pedestal and doing the underground work.  I am excited and can't wait!!  We are getting close to having electricity.

Visit Property

 Monday, April 19, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This evening we went out to our property on High Mesa to see the sunset.  I took this picture looking west.

The next 2 pictures were taken looking east towards BLM land which abuts our east property line.

It is hard to believe these pictures were taken just seconds apart.  It was a beautiful sunset.

It was another wonderful day!

Roper Lake State Park

Saturday, April 17, 2021 - Safford, AZ

Today we took Gracie to Roper Lake State Park just outside Safford.  It is not a very big lake, but Gracie found it to be very enjoyable.  I would have taken her off leash, but there were a lot of people around.

There were also several people out in rafts and kayaks.

After we were done with Gracie swimming, we went for a hike.  This was one of the few shady spots on the trail.  :)

Then it was time for lunch.  They had several covered picnic tables throughout the park so we used one overlooking the lake.

We had a very nice time!

It was another wonderful day!

Suburban Problems

 Monday, April 12, 2021 - Safford, AZ

This afternoon we took the truck to Tucson to the truck repair center.  On the way back the alternator on the Suburban started acting up.  We knew we did not have enough sunlight/battery power left to make it all the way back to Safford, so we looked for a auto parts store in Willcox.  Luckily there was an Auto Zone at the next exit just off I-10.  We pulled off real quick, swung in, and found they had one in stock.  I got it while Mike was pulling the old one out.  Mike changed the alternator right there and I returned the core.  This ease of repair is one of the nice things about having an older vehicle.  Thirty minutes later, Mike had it swapped out and we were back on the road

Drive up US 70

Saturday, April 10, 2021 - Safford, AZ

Today, we took a drive up US 70 toward Globe, AZ.  It was a beautiful drive.

We stopped to get some pictures of the beautiful flowers.  :)

We also stopped and got a picture of the historical marker for Chief Bylas.

And another for Coolidge Dam, which is on the Apache Indian Reservation.

This one is a little harder to read.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Wild Fires!

Friday, April 9, 2021 - Safford, AZ

We could see the smoke from the wild fire that is burning over on the reservation.  Hopefully they will be able to put it out soon.

Wild fire season is upon us.

Drive up Mt. Graham

Saturday, April 3, 2021 - Safford, AZ

Today we took a drive up Mt. Graham.  It was a beautiful drive and we did get out and do a little hiking.  And I took a lot of pictures.  :)

There is an animal up in the tree.  It is really hard to see.

As we continue to go up we got to snow and Gracie was very happy to see and play in it!  :)

We continued up the mountain; the views continued to be amazing!

Soon, we came upon an area that had be burned by a wild fire.

Eventually, we got as high as we were allowed to go.  They still have the road closed up at the top due to snow.  :)

The temperature near the top of the mountain where we stopped was in the upper 60's/ lower 70's.  When we got back to the trailer our thermometer was reading 105!

It was a perfect day to head up the mountain.

It was another wonderful day!

Saturday, March 27, 2021 - Safford, AZ

Today we pulled out the bikes and went for a ride.  They have a really nice paved bike trail that goes through the city.  And of course I had to stop to take a picture of Mt. Graham.  :)

We had a really nice time.

Mt. Graham

Thursday, March 25, 2021 - Safford, AZ

We walked to the back of the RV park to get a couple of great pictures of Mt. Graham.  I really like the snow capped mountains.  :)

According to Wikipedia:

"It the southernmost peak and land area in the continental United States above 10,000 feet (3,048 m). As the name "Mount Graham" is often used by locals to refer to the entire mountain range, the peak itself is frequently referred to as "High Peak".[4] It is twentieth of the 57 ultra prominent peaks of the lower 48 states,[5] and the first of the five in Arizona."

It was another wonderful day!

Snow!

Gila Box

Saturday, March 20, 2021 - Safford, AZ

Today we took a ride up to Gila Box Riparian NCA.

We took a picnic lunch and Gracie.  We did go by the Gila River and let Gracie have some fun!  It was a beautiful spot to stop.  :)

The sun was just going behind the rock was and it was worth taking a picture.

After playing there for a while, we hopped back in the car and drove down the road a little further and took a short hike.  We ended up down by the river again and of course Gracie wanted to get in. :)

Soon we were back in the car driving a little further up the road.  This time we ended up above the river and it was a beautiful view.

It was another wonderful day!
