It rained almost the entire trip back from Norfolk to Campbellsville. It was an uneventful trip, which is the kind we like. :) We left at about 8:00am, so the boys were both awake when we left and this seemed to be easier on them.

RC Store Adventure
Friday, January 2, 2015 - Norfolk, VA
I was not really feeling good today, but the plan for today was that Mike J, Mike and the boys were all going to head for Debbie's RC World, so I just took it easy. Jess took down her Christmas decoration, while I held Amilyne. Eventually the boys all got back. They seemed to have a really good time. This evening we prepared meatloaf for dinner. It was really good.
It was another wonderful day!

New Years Day!
Thursday, January 1, 2015 - Norfolk, VA
Happy New Years Everyone!
I contacted Keri this morning to let her know we could meet for lunch today or breakfast in the morning. Well we agreed upon lunch today, so Mike and I got ready to head for Cheddar's in Hampton. Mike (KOA) got home last night from Kansas, so he came also! We had lots of laughs and a really good time! Eventually we said our "good-bye"'s and we headed back to Jess's.
Jess was busy putting up rope lights in the kids room. It really looked very nice. :) I should have taken a picture. :)
This evening we went Super Ninja Japanese Steakhouse. Before the chef came we had a small problem and Jess needed to run to the store to pick up some formula. Fortunately there was a Wal-Greens just around the corner. We asked if they would hold off serving our food and they graciously agreed. :) Once Jess got back the cooking began. Jess took a wonderful video of some of the action. You need to watch it to the end. :) When the chef started tossing the food for us to catch, he threw a piece Avander's way and it just hits him on the top of the head.
Supper Ninja Dinner
Both boys ate very well! It was good food and a good time. :)
After dinner we went back to Jess and Mike's and watched some old home movies. When we were getting ready to be full-time and unloading all of our stuff we came across our old movie camera. There was a movie still in the camera, but we could not find the charger, so we could not get it out. We took it Gene's Camera Shop and they were able to get the movie out. They then wanted to know what we were going to do with the camera. I told them I was going to try to sell it on E-Bay. The salesman said if I wanted to trade for it, they would convert all my tapes to DVD. Holly picked up the tapes and DVD's once they were converted and gave them to us just last week. We truly enjoyed watching them. :)

New Years Eve!
Wednesday, December 31, 2014 - Norfolk, VA
This evening we had fondue, which has been a tradition for us for many years. The only difference this year was that Tony was unable to join us. We were trying to figure it out this evening how many years it had been, but never came up with an actually count. We know for sure it has been more than 10 years. :) We are guessing somewhere in the 12 to 14 year range. Once again I forgot to take pictures during dinner. But I did take one after dinner. :)
After dinner we played some Mario Kart and then got the boys in bed. Jess dressed Amilyne up in her New Years outfit and she looked just adorable.
At about 11:45pm, I thought I was going to be the only one awake for midnight, then Alex woke up crying and woke up Mike, Mike J and Jess. The funny thing about it was that earlier in the evening Jess was telling Mike J that he better not go to sleep before midnight. :) After wishing everyone a Happy New Year! we all headed for bed. :)

Bounce House

I got up early this morning and put in several hours of work before lunch. After lunch Jess and the kids and Mike and I all headed for the Bounce House in Virginia Beach. The boys have always enjoyed the Bounce House and today was no different. Even Amilyne got into the action. :)
When we got back from the Bounce House, Mike and I got to watch the kids for the evening while Jess and Mike J. had a night out. They had a really nice time. Our plan was to have all of the kids in bed before they got home, but Amilyne wanted to be awake for them. We tried very hard to have her asleep before they got home, but it did not work out. :) At least the boys we out for the night.

Christmas with the Grandkids
Monday, December 29, 2014 - Norfolk, VA
Mike J. had to work this morning, so we had to wait for him to get home. It was great to see Alex's reaction to seeing us. Jess pointed out to him that Santa came last night and then turned his head to look at me. He came a running, then I took back to the bedroom to see Papa. At first he ran in place, then he ran over to Papa to give him a big hug. :)
When Avander finally got up, he was not quite awake when Alex pointed out the fact that Grandma and Papa had arrived. We got a smile. Then Alex pointed out that Santa came last night "Ta Da" and the reaction was pretty much the same, a smile. This is a link to the video that Jess took of his reaction. :)
The boys were very good about waiting for their Dad to get home, but I am real glad he only had to work a half a day. They were both ready to open presents when he got home, but first Papa helped Alex and Avander drag their Dad into the front room. :)
Once we were all sitting around the tree, Mike read each of the letters from Santa. There was one for each of them. :)
Now it was time to start opening presents. Alex couldn't wait! Each present he opened brought him a tremendous amount of joy! :) Avander was excited for the first couple of presents, then all he wanted to do was play with the toys he had already opened. :) When Alex was done opening his, he wanted to help Avander open his. Which Avander was find with, since this allowed him to play with the toys that were already opened. :)
Jess, Mike J., Tony and the kids got Mike and I a state sticker for our rig. It is something we wanted. :)
After opening presents we had fun playing with the kids and their toys.

Trip to Norfolk
Sunday, December 28, 2014 - Norfolk, VA
This morning we planned to get up early and head for Norfolk, but we over slept just a little. We were on the road by 9:00am and headed for Doug's. We arrived at Doug and Laura's around 11:30am. They had delicious soup and ham sandwiches ready for lunch. It had been a while since we have seen them, so had a lot to catch up on. :) After a couple of hours of we said our "good-bye"'s. But not without getting this picture.
We had a really nice, but we still had 8 more hours to drive to get to Norfolk. After all Santa is coming there tonight. :)
The rest of the drive was uneventful, which is the kind I like. We arrived around 1:00am. We did have a slow down in PA.
It was another wonderful day!
