Christmas in Washington

Thursday, December 29, 2016 - Silverdale, WA

This morning Mike sat down and played video games with the kids.

 

While Mike played with the kids I wrapped all of the presents we had sent here.  After I got the presets wrapped we went up to the pool to check out how well the kids were swimming.  :)

Eventually it was time to open presents.   

I wanted to make sure the shirts I got the boys fit, so they tried them on and posed for me.

Ami wanted to show off her new diaper bag for her baby.

Then she tried on the new dress we got for her.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Silverdale

Wednesday, December 28, 2016 - Silverdale, WA

This morning Mike and I got all packed up and ready to head for Washington.  Tony had to work today, so he was not able to go to the airport with us.  Miranda took us to the airport, but we first stopped by El Salto for lunch.  It is very good Mexican food. 

We had a layover in Minneapolis and as we were walking to our next gate we passed this sign. 

Ami loves pickles and we just imaged this will be her some day.  :)

We arrived at Jess's safe and sound.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Bridal Gown Shopping

Tuesday, December 27, 2016 - Valparaiso, IN

This evening Miranda and I meet Miranda's mom, Natalie, at Catherine's Bridal Boutique.  Miranda tried on several dresses, but none of them were the right one.  I would post pictures, but we don't want Tony to see her in a wedding dress until the day of the wedding.  :)

We will be doing some more dress shopping next time I am in town.

Garage Work

It was a beautiful day today and Tony wanted to get a little more work done on the roof of his garage.

Tony was watching one of his co-workers dog while they were on vacation.  He is a very good dog, but a very big dog.

Christmas

Sunday, December 25, 2016 - Valparaiso, IN

Last night Mike and I stayed at my mom and dad's.  Tony and Miranda headed back last so they can go to her family this morning.

Once I got up I started helping my mom with Christmas breakfast.  She puts on a nice spread for breakfast every Christmas morning.  :)  Everyone started showing up around 10:00am.  We had breakfast first.

After breakfast we opened presents.  :)  Dad always reads the tag and hands off the present the a grandkid to deliver.

Once all of the presents were open it was time to clean up, give out hugs and say our "good-bye"'s.  We headed north to start fixing our Christmas dinner with Tony and Miranda.  Holly was supposed to come over also, but she called to let us know she was not feeling well and would not be able to make it.

We had dinner ready by the time Tony and Miranda got home from her family.  Shortly after cleaning up from dinner Tony pulled out a gingerbread making kit.  We had a great time making it.

It was another wonderful day!

Christmas Eve

Saturday, December 24, 2016 - Indianapolis, IN

This morning we were supposed to meet up with Holly and Aunt Betty at Jennie Rae's for lunch and to celebrate Christmas together.  Unfortunately Aunt Betty was not feeling well, so it was just me, Mike and Holly.  We had a wonderful lunch!  It was good to see Holly again.  :) 

After lunch Mike and I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some food for tomorrow night's dinner at Tony's before heading to Indianapolis for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner.

We made it down there just in time for Mass, but finding a place to park prove to be harder than we thought it would be.  We ended up being about 10 minutes late.  It was a nice service.  After Mass we headed for Kazan Japanese Steakhouse. 

I took all of these pictures and I forgot to take one of Mike, Tony and Miranda.  We were really there.  :)  As always the meal was great and it is a good time.  When we first started going here we were about the only ones in the restaurant, but now the restaurant is full!  :)

Travel to Valparaiso

Wednesday, December 21, 2016 - Valparaiso, IN

Today was another long day of travel.  We left the trailer early in the morning and headed for Phoenix.  The first leg of our flight was to Minneapolis.  That flight was delayed to the point we were going to arrive after the next flight left, so they rescheduled us for a later flight in Minneapolis.  When we arrived in Minneapolis that flight was over booked and they were offering 20 people $700 gift cards, plus a hotel room for tonight.  The next available flight was early tomorrow morning.  So Mike and I decided to go for it.  We were near the end of the line but it was going to be $1,400 for the both of us.  :)  We gave Tony a call to let him know we would be in in the morning.

Once everyone had boarded they called us up and let us know we could go ahead and get on.the plane they had enough people.  We called Tony to let him know we were going to be there after all.  We told him we would take the United Limo and to pick us up at the bus station.

We finally made to Tony's around 10:30pm.  It was a long day, but we made it there safe and sound.
