Old Tucson

Tuesday, July 4, 2017 - Amado, AZ

Happy Independence Day!

During the summer months Old Tucson is only open on the weekends and on the 4th of July, so we decided we would go there today.  The temperature was not as hot today, but it was still 100+.  Old Tucson is in the Tucson Mountain Park.
It was about an hour drive, but we made it.  :)

We were not sure what to expect, but it was a really neat.  As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a cowboy.
We saw the sign "Ronald Reagan 40th President of the United States acted here in the 1950 film "The Last Outpost"".
This is looking down the road.
We went joined the group for a tour around town.  This is our tour guide out front the hotel.  She was a great guide and let us know about numerous films that were shot here.
After the tour Mike and I walked around more of the town.

Then we headed for the saloon to watch a show.

After the show we walked around a little more, then returned to the saloon for a special Independence show.

It was another wonderful day!
