Children's Museum

Monday, July 13, 2015 - Indianapolis, IN

Mike J and Jess were up early this morning and headed for home.  They did not wake up the boys when they left.

Mike and Kelly decided they would all go to the Children's Museum today, so this morning Mike and the boys met Kelly, Porter and Hunter at the Children’s Museum around 10:30am.  Unfortunately since I took last week off work I needed to stay behind and work.  :)

They had a wonderful time and Mike took a lot of pictures!

When they finally got back to the campground they were exhausted.  Avander took a short nap, but Alex woke up as soon as we moved him out of the car.  :)

For dinner we went to my mom and dad’s.  She fixed us lasagna. It was delicious.

It was another wonderful day!

The Boys Arrive

Sunday, July 12, 2015 - Indianapolis, IN

This morning Mike and I decided we would go to 10:30am Mass at St. Thomas in Fortville, IN, about 20 minutes from the campground.  We almost over slept; we did not get up until 9:15am.  It felt good to sleep in, but we had to hustle to get ready to go.

It was a very small church, but very nice and the church was full.  Very different for the 12 to 15 people that attended Sacred Heart church in Big Stone Gap.  We felt very welcomed here also.  :)

Once we were back at the trailer we got all of our laundry together and headed for the Laundromat.  We needed to wash our big bedspread and we knew it would not fit in my Mom’s washing machine, so we decided we would get it all done at the Laundromat.  We took it to Laundry and Tan Connection about 5 miles from the campground.  It is one of the nicer Laundromats I have been to.  The place even had a playland for kids.  :)

After the laundry was done we took Gracie for another walk before heading for Joe’s Carb Shack to meet up with my Mom and Dad, Patsy, Sue and John, and John, Christa and Caroline.  This was the first time we met Caroline and she is a beautiful little girl.

Jess called while we were at dinner to let us know they were on their way and would be arriving around 8:30pm.  After dinner we all headed for Mom and Dad's where around 8:30 Jess, Mike J and kids arrived.  It was the first time any of the family was able to meet Ami and Jess and Mike J were able to meet Caroline.  It was a really nice time.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Move to Indianapolis

Saturday, July 11, 2015 - Indianapolis, IN

This morning we were up early and on the road by 10:15am.  A little later than what we were hoping for, but we were still able to get to the Indianapolis KOA by 3:30pm.  It was not a bad drive and we even made it through Louisville without much trouble.  :)
We got all set up for the week, took Gracie for a walk, and then headed out for my mom and dad’s.  Tonight we were subs for the monthly euchre club.  Tonight we meet at Jeff and Mary’s.  We had a really nice time and I came in third place out of 12.  Not bad if I do say so myself.  I even had a really nice lay down loner hand.  That like never happens for me.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Boat Out

Friday, July 10, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

Mike was able to get the brakes on the boat trailer released enough for us to get the boat out of the water.  We did contact Bill’s Boat Barn to see if they would be able to get the trailer brakes fixed before we hopefully return on Labor Day weekend.  They said they would be able to work on it today.

I was so proud of myself, I was able to get the boat lined up on the trailer without a hitch.  :)  This is absolutely a first for me.  And it really really felt good.  I was pumped.  :)

Before dropping the boat off at Bill's Boat Barn we stopped by the car wash to get the boat cleaned!  We even power washed the carpet.  It really looks nice again!

The brakes were very warm by the time we got to Bill's Boat Barn, but it is there and hopefully they will be able to fix it.

When we got back to the trailer we started getting things packed up and ready for the move to Indianapolis tomorrow.  Around 5:30 we headed for Jamestown Marina to have dinner.  It has been a long time since we have eaten here and we reminisced about years gone by.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Back on the Lake

Thursday, July 9, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

Before going out on the boat Alex saw a turtle and really wanted a picture of it, so here it is.  :)  The turtle is hard to spot, but he is there.
We stayed close to Alligator II today because it was very windy and the lake was ruff. We found ourselves a cove in Wolf Creek and went swimming.

While Gracie just chilled out on the back deck.
After lunch Alex and Avander were standing on the back deck and I asked them to turn around so I could take their picture.  :)  The pictures turn out pretty good.

Papa and Ami went out swimming and he put Ami to sleep.  :)
A little more playing in the water.
After a while Avander had all of the playing he could take.  Down for the count.  :)

Jess and Mike wanted to pick up some drift wood while we were out.  They are hoping to use it as railing at their house.  So we went drift wood hunting.  We saw several pieces, so they swam to shore and picked out the pieces that wanted to take.  We loaded them on the boat and headed back to the dock.

After dinner Jess and Mike headed north to go see Mike’s family for the weekend.  We will be seeing them again on Sunday when they stop by to drop off the boys.  :)

After they left Mike and I thought it would be a good time to get the boat out of the water.  After we hitched the boat trailer up to the Suburban and started to move the wheels on the back axle were not turning.  :( The brakes were locked up.  Mike took a look at it, but after a short time we knew there wasn't anything we could really do about it tonight, so we just unhitched and headed back to the trailer.  We will work on it tomorrow.

It actually worked out better that we did not get the boat out tonight.  A storm rolled in and we would not have had time to clean the boat.

It was another wonderful day!

Water Park

Wednesday, July 8, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

Today we decided we would try out the water in Somerset, KY.  When Mike and I were driving from Big Stone Gap we saw sign for the SomerSplash Water Park and thought it would be fun.  We were not sure if the weather would hold out, but once we got to Somerset the clouds stated moving out.  We stopped by Burger King to get a bite for lunch before going to the water park.  By the time we got there the weather was beautiful!  :)

We had a great time.

It was another wonderful day!
