Park in Avon

Thursday, April 21, 2016 - Indianapolis, IN

This morning Jess, Mike and the kids decided they would go to the kids park in Avon, IN, which was only about 20 minutes from us.  One of my Facebook friends had posted a link to 5 Indiana Playgrounds Worth the Drive.   So Jess picked the one in Avon, IN.

They had a really nice time, but Jess and Mike did not take any pictures.  :(  But when they got back they carried Avander and Ami in and laid them down on our bed.  They were out for a couple of hours.  :)
Mike and I soon headed for the funeral home.  It was nice to everyone, just not the reason we were seeing them.

After the viewing we headed to Champ's for dinner with mom and dad, Patsy, Sue, and Kim.  Jess and the kids meet us there.  Papa went out to walk in with the kids.
It was a very nice dinner.

It was another wonderful day!

Fun at Children's Museum

Wednesday, April 20, 2016 - Indianapolis, IN

This morning Mike, Jess and kids decided they would go to the Children's Museum.  I stayed home and worked.  Based on the pictures it appears they had a really nice time.  :)

After Children's Museum Mike, Jess and Kids ran over to my Mom and Dad's house to visit for a little while.  Eventually we all meet at Puccini's to have dinner with Jacki, George and Jake.  Avander slept the entire meal, but we had a nice time.

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Indianapolis

Tuesday, April 19, 2016 - Indianapolis, IN

One more travel day.  Today was a short drive to Indianapolis.  We arrived around 12:30pm.  I worked this afternoon, then we headed for the Pub Bar and Grill to meet Patsy and Rick; Dad; and Sue, John and Kim.  Mom had fallen on Friday of last week at a funeral and hurt her arm and rib.  We think she may have cracked a rib, but she won't go to the doctor to have it checked. :(

We had a really nice dinner and discussed going to see Aunt Martha tomorrow, but just before we were ready Dad got a call to let him know that Aunt Martha had passed away.  :(

She was my Dad's sister.  My Dad's brother passed away in February.  My Dad is the last surviving sibling.  I am thankful we are in town to attend the funeral later this week.

We headed for home shortly after dinner and Jess and the kids arrived shortly after we got home.  She will be here for a couple of days.

Travel to Elizabethtown, KY

Monday, April 18, 2016 - Elizabethtown, KY

We were up early this morning since today we were going to have a longer travel day.  We first headed for Russell Springs, KY, where we parked the truck and trailer at the Kroger parking.  Then took the Suburban so we could to run by the storage shed where we keep the boat to take a quick measurement of the boat.  Tony is building a garage and he wants to make sure the boat will fit.  :)

The boat looks great!  I sure hope we get to use it this summer.  Once we took our measurements we drove back to the truck and trailer via Jamestown.  Since they re-did 127, which now by-passes Jamestown, a lot of places in Jamestown have closed.  We were happy to see the Jamestown Cafe is still open.  So we stopped to have lunch!
We were also happy to now know the food was as good as we remembered also.  :)

When we got back to Russell Springs I still had not found a campground for us for tonight, so we stopped by the Mc Donald's to use their wifi.  We couldn't just use their wifi, so we bought some dessert.  :)  I found a campground in Elizabethtown, KY, so off we went.

We arrived at Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground in Elizabethtown.  It is a nice campground, but it is in a neighborhood right across the street from an elementary school.  When we turned down the road we were very worried until we saw the campgrounds sign.  :)

We got all set up, took Gracie for a nice long walk, then asked for a recommendation of a place to eat dinner.  The lady in the office suggested Las Chalupas.  It was very good.  But we found it very strange that the couple in the table behind us brought in their dog???

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Heiskell, TN

Sunday, April 17, 2016 - Heiskell, TN

We wanted to get on the road early this morning so we could be north of Atlanta before traffic got bad, so we were on the road by 9:00am.  We had about a 3.5 hour drive today to the Escapee's Raccoon Valley RV park in Heiskell, TN.  Mike was some what surprised, but we did not stop to eat today.  :)

We arrived at the park, got set up and then talked to our neighbors.  Well maybe not quite in that order.  :)  But we got set up all the same.  I did get a picture today.
Our neighbors recommended the Dead End BBQ down in Knoxville, TN, which was about 20 minutes down the road.  So we decided to give it a try and it was very good!
It was another wonderful day!

Visit with Bob and Laurie

Saturday, April 16, 2016 - Atlanta, GA

We were ready to move on down the road around 9:30am this morning.  We only had a short drive.  We only went as far as the south side of Atlanta to the Atlanta South RV Park.  About 1.5 north.  I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of our campsite.  :)

Once we got all settled I gave Bob a call to find out where we were going to meet them for lunch.  We decided on Cheddar's, which was only about 10 minutes away from the campground.  Laurie was in our wedding, then a several weeks after our wedding I was in their wedding.  :)  Both are friends from our college days.
After a very enjoyable lunch of catching up we went back to the trailer to show them our home.  :)  Eventually we had to say our "Good-bye's".

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Elko, GA

Friday, April 15, 2016 - Elko, GA

Well it was finally time to say our good-bye's to all of the people at Grand Lakes RV Resort that we had meet while we were here.  We have had a really nice time.  We pulled out pretty close to on-time.  We wanted to be on the road by 9:30am and we pulled out of our site at about 9:20am.  :)  We still had to go up to the office and check out.  When we came out of the office Bob and Tena were waiting for us.  Mike had left his pan he uses to catch possible oil drops from the truck.
Then Evie pulled up next us to also say good-bye.  We really did meet a lot of nice people here.  :)  Before leaving Bob pointed out that there was oil leaking from the truck.  Well the service center was not that far out of our way, so we turned and headed south to the truck service center.  Come to find out they over filled the oil reserve and that is what was leaking.  So we were finally on the way north.

We did make a stop for lunch at Cracker Barrel somewhere in GA.  When we did arrive at Twin Oaks RV Park I thought for sure this was the first campground we stopped at on our drive home from buying our rig in Ocala, FL in 2012.  Mike did not think so since the Primrose flowers were not by the office.  Well when I went in to the office to check in I asked about the Primrose's.  They had to move them the dust was not good for them, but they were still in the park.  So this was the place we stayed at in 2012.  :)

The Primrose is a flower that opens up every night around sunset.  When we were here in 2012 they were in bloom and we were able to watch them open up.  It was really cool.

It is a nice campground and the staff is very friendly.

It was another wonderful day!
