Happy 4th of July!

Saturday, July 4, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Today we were up and moving a little earlier, so we packed our lunch and snacks and headed out to the lake.  Tony let us know that they were going to need to leave tonight because they now need to be in Omaha, NE by 7:00am Monday and they needed to go home first to pick up all of their gear.  And that was going to be too much driving to leave on Sunday.  So we were going to make the most of today!

We headed out and found a good swimming hole.  Even Ami got out in the water.  :)

Alex enjoyed swimming with everyone.  He did such a great job!

While Avander found a place to sleep.  :)
It was now time to do some tubing.  Alex, Nick, Megan and Shelby were first to go.

Then it was Megan, Shelby, Nick, Mike J. and Tony's turn out on the tubes.

Nick fell off before I was able to get a picture of Tony with them.  Also it looks like the tube has a hole, oh no!
Mike J. came in and Alex headed out.

Then it was time to catch on camera the switching of tubes. :)

Nick came in and Mike J. went out.

Alex found a good spot to watch all the tubing.
Everyone continued to have fun out on the tubes.  :)  (Lots more tubing pictures to follow! Some are not real good.  :) )

Avander wanted me to take a picture of him, so I took a selfie of me and him.  :)

Tony, Alex and Nick wanted me to take a picture of there tattoos, so I did.  :)

After a full day out on the boat we came back to the trailer and got dinner ready.  Tonight we had BBQ pork chops, YUM!  They turned out great!

Jess dressed Ami up in a cute little 4th of July outfit and I just had to take a picture.
After dinner almost everyone except me, Mike, Jess and Ami all headed back out on the boat to go see the fireworks. They said the fireworks were very nice.  But once they got back Tony, Alex, Kaylin and Shelby packed up and headed down the road.  We had a wonderful time and we were glad they were able to come down!

It was another wonderful day!

Afternoon on the Lake

Friday, July 3, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

Last night Nick and Megan arrived first I think around midnight.  About 1.5 hours later Tony, Alex, Kaylin and Shelby arrived.  They all crashed out.  Then around 3:30am Jess called to let us know they were lost.  They were close, but lost.  :)  After a couple of phone calls Mike thought it would be easier to just meet them at the McDonald’s in Russell Springs and bring them out to the hotel.  They were both very exhausted and just glad to finally be at the hotel.  Around 8:00am Mike ran to the hotel to pick up the kids, so Jess and Mike J. would be able to sleep in just a little longer.

Ami enjoyed playing on our bed.

While Avander was playing with Uncle Tony (fuzzypictures :) ) and Alex ate breakfast.

Around noon everyone grabbed a bite for lunch and we packed up some snacks and headed for the lake.  Tony and Mike got the boat in the water and we all piled into the boat.  Alex was being a ladies man with Kaylin and Shelby, while Megan was holding the boat.

The weather was beautiful this afternoon and we were able to get in a lot of tubing, swimming and playing!  Alex, Alex, Tony and Shelby went out first.  Little Alex had fun, but was done fairly quickly.

Once he came in Tony, Alex and Shelby

As we were just riding around Avander got into playing with Uncle Tony! :)

Now it was time to throw out 4 tubes, so Mike J., Alex, Nick and Shelby gave it a try.  :)

After a full afternoon out on the lake we headed back to the trailer and fixed nachos for dinner.  One of Alex and Tony's favorite meals.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Getting ready for Everyone to Arrive

Thursday, July 2, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

Tony, Alex, Kaylin and Shelby and Nick and Megan are due to arrive very late or very very early tomorrow morning, depending on how you look at it.  :)  Jess, Mike and the kids are going to arriving very early tomorrow morning, but they are going to stay in a hotel tonight in hopes to keep the kids asleep when they arrive.  We are really looking forward to all of them arriving.  :)  We are hoping the rain will slow down enough this weekend, so we can get out on the boat!

Mike and I were able to get to the grocery store to pick up food for just the weekend.  We will be feeding 13 people.  It will be a fun weekend.  Unfortunately Tony called to let us know they will be cutting their long weekend short and will need to be leaving Sunday night.  They were originally planning on staying until Tuesday, but now Tony and Alex need to be Iowa on Monday morning at 7:00am for work.  We are still really looking forward to seeing them.

It was another wonderful day!

Nothing Special

Wednesday, July 1, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

I got up early to get my hours in as early as possible.  Mike worked on setting up a sleeping area in the garage.  It does not look like we will be able to take the FJR out of the garage.  The angle is to steep and all of our boards are under the wheels for leveling the trailer.  He did get the dirt bike and the bicycle out, but they are both easy to get out.

Once I had my hours in we headed for the storage shed to pick up the boat and drop the other 2 bikes off the back of the Suburban.  Mike is hoping to get the boat cleaned tomorrow if the rain will stop long enough for him to be able to do that.

All of the kids are due to arrive very late tonight.  :)  I am so looking forward to seeing them all.

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Russell Springs, KY

Tuesday, June 30, 2015 - Russell Springs, KY

The plan was to be on the road by 9:00am, but I knew if anyone stopped by to talk it would not happen.  We made several friends here, so we had several people stop by to say good-bye.  Jess Lea RV Park has been a very nice place to stay!  If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be staying here again.

We were able to get on the road by 10:00am, not bad.  :)  It was about a 4 hour drive to Russell Springs from Big Stone Gap.  It was not a bad drive at all.  We stopped in London, KY at White Castle to get a quick lunch.  We arrived at the KOA in Russell Springs at about 3:00pm ET.  We have been here several times, so we were able to get set up quickly and before the rain arrived.

We did move over one site.  The site we were in last year was very muddy this year and with the grandkids joining us in a couple of days that was going to be a real mess.

It was another wonderful day!
