Rumrunners and Company for dinner

Friday, February 27, 2015 – Fort Myers, FL

The weather today was a little cool all day, so we did not go swimming in the pool at all.  Once everyone was up and ready to go we headed for the hospital to visit Aunt Martha.  She had been down here visiting mom and dad last week, but she ended up in the hospital with pneumonia.  Everyone said she looked a lot better today.  That was really good to hear!

After our visit with Aunt Martha, we headed back to mom and dad’s place to pick up Rick before heading out to lunch.  We went to Rumrunner’s for lunch.  It is a very nice place on the canal.  Last year when we came here we saw a couple of dolphin’s and I was unable to get any good pictures of them, so I was hoping I would see some more today.   Sure enough we no more than got seated at our table and there was a dolphin out in the water.  But I was not quick enough to get a good picture of him.  All you can see is his fin.

But before they brought our lunch out I saw another one.  This one did not come out of the water as far as the first one, but I was able to catch a better picture of him.

Neither picture is great, but I did get a picture of mom, dad, Patsy and Rick at our table.  :)

As always the food at Rumrunner’s was very good.

After lunch we headed back to mom and dad’s place to get ready for company tonight.  Mark and Linda, Jeff and Mary, PJ and Ray and Sally all came over for dinner.  We spent the evening enjoying everyone’s company.  :)  We had a lot of good conversation and a lot of laughs.

It was another wonderful day!

Arrived in Fort Myers!

Thursday, February 26, 2015 – Fort Myers, FL

Mike and I were up early this morning, 3:30am.  I needed to be at the airport by 6:00am to catch a 7:19am flight.  The San Antonio airport is about 1.5 hour drive from Uvalde.  We did not run into any bad traffic, so we made it on time.  I flew from San Antonio to Dallas.  It was lightly snowing in Dallas, so I was a little concerned my flight would be delayed, but it wasn’t.  :)  The flight from Dallas to Fort Myers was about 10 minutes late, but I made it safe and sound.  :)

We headed back to the house, it is very nice place.  I really like the layout.

Once we got settled we headed for the grocery store.  It is always an adventure to go to the grocery store with so many people.  :)

After getting the groceries put away we headed to Woody’s for dinner.  It was an excellent dinner.  The weather is a little cool, so we did not go swimming when we got back.  Since Patsy and Rick and I all got up early to catch our flights we called it a night early.  :)

On Mike’s way back to Uvalde he stopped by a couple of hobby stores in San Antonio in hopes to get the parts he needs to put the orange and yellow plane back together.  Mike said neither hobby store was very good, so I don’t know if he got everything he needed.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Feeling Bad!

Saturday, February 21, 2015 – Uvalde, TX

I have not updated the blog in a while, mostly because I have not been feeling well.  I have caught a cold and it has me down.  Today was no exception.  This morning Mike and I took Gracie for a walk and while on the walk we saw Rennie coming through the gate.  He invited us over to his place to see his arrowhead collection.  It is a very nice collection and we really enjoyed seeing it.  :)  On the way back to our place I was getting very tired and not feeling well at all.  We were supposed to go to the fly-in over at the airport today with Thomas and Patricia, but I decided it would be better for me to stay home and get myself feeling better.

Mike did not take the camera or his phone, so he did not get any pictures, but he did say it was a nice fly-in.  They went over to the other side of the airport and were given a tour of the service area.  They were gone for several hours and I was able to get lots of sleep.  :)

That evening we did not do much either.  Hopefully I will be feeling a lot better by Thursday, since I will be flying over to Fort Myers, FL to spend a long weekend with my Mom and Dad.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

Del Rio, TX

Monday, February 16, 2015

Since today is President’s day it is a federal holiday, so Mike had the day off.  I took a half a day off.  We slept in a little, and then I got up and started working.  After getting a couple of hours of work in, we got ready to head for Del Rio.  Mike was hoping to get an appointment with an FAA physician over in Del Rio today to get his FAA medical.  Before leaving we stopped by the library to get the necessary paper work he would need for the appointment.  Unfortunately getting the appointment done today did not work out, but we now know where the office is at.  Mike will be talking to Rick in the next day or two to see if he can take a morning or afternoon off to complete this appointment.

After finding the doctor’s office we ran by Wal-Mart to pick up a couple things, then we went to Chili’s for lunch.  It was a very nice lunch.

Thomas and Patricia had told us about a nice size lake here in Del Rio, so we were going to try to find it.  After checking my phone I found that they must be talking about Amistad Lake National Recreation Area.  It looks like a very nice boating and recreational lake.  :)

We did not go to the dam, since it is in Mexico and we did not have our passports with us.  :)

It was another wonderful day!

More Flying

Sunday, February 15, 2015 – Uvalde, TX

After Mass and breakfast I got some laundry started and Mike changed the oil on the Suburban.  I even took a short nap.  J  After Mike finished with the Suburban he worked on trying to figure out the problem with the green and yellow plane.  We are now thinking nothing hit the plane, but maybe there was a problem with the engine that caused the plane to crash.  The determination is that he will need to take the engine apart to see if he can find anything wrong with it.

He finally got Tony’s plane all ready to fly, so we took it out for its maiden flight.  It was a little windy out, but it flew great!

On the third landing it was a little ruff, so he decided he better make it the last one for today, before he does some real damage.

It was another wonderful day!
