Tumacacori National Historical Park

Sunday, March 26, 2017 - Amado, AZ

The Tumacacori National Historical Park is the ruins of three Spanish Mission communities.
It was really cool.  We did go on a guided tour.  Our guide was very good.  These are pictures of the garden area right outside the visitor center.

These are a couple of buildings on the grounds.  The tall build with the white dome is the church.

Then we went inside the church.  I am sure it was beautiful inside back in the day.

They do occasionally have weddings and twice a year they have church services here.

This is the cemetery area.  I forget the what the round building was, but it was the area that they used to prepare the bodies for burial.

 This is the surplus building.

This was the school room.
Here are some of the beautiful flowers that are blooming this spring.

After touring the grounds we went to the De Anza trail that is at the back of the park.  We only walked about .5 miles of the trail.

When we got back we sat down with Barb, Bobbie, Russ and Roger for some adult beverages.  :)
It was another wonderful day!
