Burrowing Owls

Saturday, March 4, 2017 - Fort Myers, FL

This morning Patsy fixed a wonderful breakfast.  She is a great cook, so I know it would be good.  :)

After breakfast I went out and took a couple of pictures of the view from the back of the house.

Then while everyone was getting ready Patsy and I went for a walk to see the Caloosahatchee River.  It was just a couple blocks over, then a couple blocks down the road.  When we got there we saw what looked like little crosses.
Upon further inspection we found out that they were marking burrowing owl nests.  And they are protected, so you are not allowed to damage the nests.  Well both Patsy and I forgot to bring our cell phone, so we could not take any pictures, so we headed back to the house and on the way we meet up with John and Kim.  They went out for a walk also.  John had his phone so we turned around to get some pictures.  (The above pictures were ones that John actually took.  :) )

When we got back there was an owl outside of his hole and there was one in the hole, but the one in the hole was very hard to see and he did not get a good picture of him.

John also took a picture of me, Patsy and Kim by the Caloosahatchee River.
When we got back to the house we played some euchre and eventually headed for Rum Runners for a late lunch or early dinner.  Depending on how you wanted to look at it.  :)

We did go over to the shops after eating and did a little shopping before heading home.  We also stopped by the grocery store to pick up a couple of things including to snack on tonight.  Once we got back to the house we played cards and relaxed.

It was another wonderful day!
