Happy Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 23, 2017 - Amado, AZ

Happy Thanksgiving!

Early this afternoon Tony and Miranda arrived in Tucson.  We went back to the trailer so they could drop off their stuff, say "hi" to Gracie and we could pick up the Suburban.  Then we headed for Phoenix to pick up Jess, Mike and the kids.  Everyone arrived on time and safe and sound.

Our original plan was to eat dinner at the Golden Corral right by the airport, but when we arrived the line was out the door.  It looks like we were not the only ones with this idea.  So instead we drove down to the Golden Corral in Casa Grande.  We were able to get right in and we had a very nice dinner.   :)

It was another wonderful day!

K of C Intitation

Saturday, November 18, 2017 - Amado, AZ

Today I wanted to wash all of our blankets, which meant I had to go up to Green Valley to the laundry mat up there.  Our blankets don't fit in the washers here at the park.  While I was waiting for our load to finish washing I noticed someone over filled the soap in their washing machine.

What a mess.  :)

This evening we went to 5:00pm Mass at St. Ann's because they had the K of C initiation Mass.  This makes the K of C for St. Ann's and it Missions official.  :)

After Mass we all went down to Wisdow's for dinner to celebrate.

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Amado

Sunday, November 12, 2017 - Amado, AZ

We were up very early this morning to catch our flight to Tucson.  Last night as we left the airport we stopped by the American ticket counter to get our TSA Pre-Check added and the ticket agent noticed Mike's name was missed spelled.  We were not sure if we would have trouble this morning, but we did not.  :)

It was a good flight and we arrived home safe and sound.

It was another wonderful day!

Travel to Dallas

Saturday, November 11, 2017 - Dallas, TX

Time to pack up and head home.  Out flight from San Pedro to Belize International Airport was at 10:00am.  This the first time through the entire trip that our transportation did not show up.  The hotel clerk hailed us a taxi and paid for it.  :)

The flight back to Belize City was beautiful.

I thought our flight to Dallas was not until 5:37pm, so I went into a couple of the little shops in the airport and found a couple of patches to add to my collection.  :)

When it was approximately 3 hours before our flight time we went to check in, but it we were unable.  When the gentleman came to help us he let us know we just missed our flight.  It appears I read the itinerary incorrectly and I was reading the time we were supposed to arrive in Dallas, not leave for Dallas.  The next flight to Dallas had room, so we got our new tickets and went to get something to eat at the restaurant in the airport.  I ordered a hamburger, which did not come with any condiments on it.  I put the ketchup on and went to put mustard on, but it was runny so I did not put any more on.  Well I am real glad I did not put much mustard on because it wasn't mustard at all it was hot sauce in a yellow bottle.  Then Mike informed me "don't you remember when we first got here and they said they don't use mustard down here."  Well somewhere I either missed that or didn't here it.  I am just glad I did not put much on.  :)

We made it to Dallas and found a hotel for the night.  As we were descending into the Dallas area I did take a picture that I thought turned out very good.

Our flight to Tucson will be in the morning.

It was another wonderful day!

Lazy Day

Friday, November 10, 2017 - San Pedro, Belize

We had different plans for today, but unfortunately I woke up not feeling the best.  I still wanted to rent a golf cart and drive up north of the bridge.  So off we went.  We were sure it would be a lot more of the same, but it is not.  As soon as we got across we saw several buildings that were about 3/4 built.
It is not near as crowded either.  The island does not seem as wide or built up.  This is a picture of a heliport.
The road was paved for the first couple of miles, then it became a dirt road that we road on until we came to a very large puddle and the last thing we wanted to do was get stuck way out here.

We did see several land for sale signs.

On the way back we stopped at Tres Cocos Waffles and Smokehouse.  I still was not feeling very well, so I only had a waffle.  Mike had the pork taco and said it was delicious.

Also on the way back Mike wanted a picture of the large Police Station.  :)
Once we were back on the south side of the bridge I took a picture to show how many golf carts there are on the island, but the picture does not even come close.  :)
Soon we made it back to the hotel.  Mike went to the office, picked out a book to read out on the deck, while I went in the room to take a nap in hopes of feeling better.

After a couple of hours Mike came in to say he was going to get ice cream, which didn't sound bad to me either.  It was raining, but we only got a little wet in the golf cart.  :)

When we got back to the room we didn't go anywhere for the rest of the night.  Even though I told Mike I would go with him to get something to eat, but I probably wouldn't eat.

It was another wonderful day!

Snuba Diving

Thursday, November 9, 2017 - San Pedro, Belize

We ate breakfast a couple of times today.  :)  The first time was at the hotel, but it was just toast and fruit.  This is our view at breakfast.
Then we started walking down the beach.  Walking along the beach is a lot nicer then walking along the side walks.  :)

After a while I was getting thirsty, so we stopped at Blue Water Grill for some tea and a fresh fruit plate.  This was our second breakfast.  This is my view...Mike to a picture of a different view.  :)
They had couple of really ice sayings that I just had to take a picture of.

After a brief stop we continued on down the beach.
The plan was not to walk to the other end, but we made it.  :)  Then headed back to the hotel.  On the way back we decided we better eat lunch before our 2:00pm pick up time for the snuba diving.  We stopped by Estel's Dine by the Sea.

Mike ordered fish and I ordered shrimp and rice and beans.  Mike had the whole fish.  :)
After lunch we continued our walk back to our hotel.  When we passed the Blue Water Grill I took a picture of the place.
Once we got back to the hotel we changed to our swimming suits and got ready to snuba diving. :)

The boat arrived about 5 minutes early.  We headed out just a couple of miles and arrived at Hol Chan Marine Reserve.  After we got all of our instructions we jumped into the water.  Mike and I both had a snorkeling mask on, but instead of a snorkel you have a breathing tube which is about 25' long.  The tube goes to a small raft that has the air tanks on it.  There was one raft for the both of us.  Our tour guide had a full scuba suit on.  We were at the Belize Barrier Reef.  We saw numerous fish and a couple of eels.

There were a lot of underwater pictures taken while we were snuba diving.  :)

Our tour guide was very goo about keeping an eye on us and pointing out items of interest.  :)  Here are a couple of videos.

We all hopped back in the boat and headed a little further out the Belize Barrie Reef.  This time we went snorkeling with sharks!!!  Really!!!  We must be nuts!!!  :)  They were even feeding the sharks as were getting in the water.  This made me real nervous!  Mike and the other people on our tour got right in there...not me, I stayed back.

Soon one of the tour guides let us know there was a sea turtle, which was very cool to see.

Here are a couple of videos.
We had a great time!  It really was awesome!  I would absolutely do it again.  :)

When we got back we sat at the bar and tried to figure out how to watch the videos on Mike's laptop.  We did not bring the adapter for the micro SD, so we just watched them on the GoPro.  I am really looking forward to seeing all these videos on a bigger screen.  :)

Once the mosquitoes got bad we decided it was time to eat dinner and we thought we would just walk down to the Hidden Treasure Restaurant.  As we were walking I was sure we missed our turn, so we asked a couple of people as they passed by on their golf carts.  One gentleman finally pointed us in the right direction and sure enough we missed our turn.  :)  It looks like earlier today they moved the sign and cut down a tree, so that is how we missed the turn.  :)

It was a wonderful dinner.  I had lobster and Mike had shrimp.  This evening it started to cloud up and rain.

It was another wonderful day!
